Best 3 Personal Blenders for Shakes and Smoothies

Video Best 3 Personal Blenders for Shakes and Smoothies

Paul has been passionate about preparing and consuming healthy food and beverages for forty years. Born in the UK, he now lives in Florida.

There’s nothing quite like the joy of having the ability to make shakes and smoothies whenever you want, regardless of whether you are in your own home, at the office, or traveling.

My family and I all love to create our own tasty, healthy, and refreshing beverages—especially after being out in the hot and humid weather of Florida, where we live. Blenders are also great for making hot drinks, such as mochas and matcha lattes.

This article looks at the three best personal blenders that are suitable for making shakes and smoothies.

A good personal blender, in my opinion, should be compact, versatile, well designed, and have an attractive appearance, plus the necessary power to do the job effectively. Last but not least, it should also offer excellent value for money.

Top 3 Blenders for Shakes and Smoothies

Here are my three personal blenders for making shakes and smoothies.

    1. The Ninja: Powerful and Reliable
    2. The Hamilton Beach: Affordable and Compact
    3. The Aoozi: Convenient and Easy

I will explain my reasoning and experiences below.

    1. The Ninja: Powerful and Reliable

We use this Ninja Personal Blender as our family personal blender. It lives in our kitchen and is in regular use.

It’s proved itself to be a reliable operator over the three years that we’ve had it, but its greatest appeal is perhaps its might, it’s generally much more powerful than its cheaper rivals and breaks up frozen fruit easily.

    Ninja Pros:

    • Unlike some personal blenders, the Ninja has the power to destroy ice and frozen fruit.
    • Very easy to clean.
    • If you are mainly just making things like shakes and smoothies for one or two people, it’s great value for money, there’s really not much point paying out for a more expensive model.
    • Very quick, even with ice. My wife uses it for her morning cup of iced chai.
    • It’s very compact, especially when you consider the power it possesses, and takes up relatively little counter or storage space.

    Ninja Cons:

    • Not the cheapest personal blender out there, although in my opinion you get what you pay for.

    2. The Hamilton Beach: Affordable and Compact

The Hamilton Beach is a very affordable and compact personal blender that does its job without any fuss. I bought one for my daughter in her favorite color (purple) and she adores it.

It’s a great choice for those who have a limited budget or a small kitchen, as it’s affordable and takes up hardly any space.

    Hamilton Beach Pros:

    • I love the way it’s designed to have the wrap-around cord to save space.
    • It’s relatively quiet, especially when compared with bigger blenders.
    • There’s enough power to blend frozen food.
    • The top is also a cup guard, which makes it easier to drink from without spillage.
    • It’s a great choice for someone who has a small kitchen like my daughter, as it takes up only a minimal amount of counter and storage space.
    • There’s a choice of different colors.

    Hamilton Beach Cons:

    • This is an excellent blender for the low price, but if quality is a high priority for you, then you should consider spending more.

    3. The Aoozi: Convenient and Easy

My wife loves her Aoozi personal blender and always likes to take it with her when we travel anywhere, that way she can make the smoothies and coffee drinks that she loves.

I would summarize it as a convenient little machine that’s very portable, relatively inexpensive, and works well for hot beverages as well as cold ones.

    Aoozi Pros:

    • It has a large battery capacity, the charge lasts a long time compared to similar personal blenders.
    • Compact size; it fits inside my wife’s purse.
    • It’s powerful enough to blend fruit, yogurt, as well as hot drinks like mochas and matcha lattes.
    • It’s quick and capable, making a smoothie in less than a minute.
    • It’s easy to take apart when you want to give it a clean.
    • It’s a particularly great blender for travel, as well as the compact size and battery capacity, the flip-top lid is well designed and good for avoiding spillages.

    Aoozi Cons:

    • While its plus point is that it’s compact, it’s not as powerful as a bigger blender. For example, it can only cope with frozen fruit and crushed ice in small quantities.

How Does a Kitchen Blender Work?

Essentially, a blender is a versatile device for changing solids into liquids. They do this by having a motor at the base which drives a propeller-like sharpened blade that chops up food and other ingredients, such as ice, that have been placed inside the pitcher.

With some blenders, there is a control panel with different settings for different speeds. Other blenders, especially the smaller, more affordable ones, you apply downward pressure to the lid of the pitcher to activate the motor, then take away pressure when you want it to stop.

The shape of the pitcher and the pitch of the blades produces a form of tornadic action. This causes the contents of the pitcher to circulate until they have been chopped to the required consistency. Food is typically prevented from escaping from the pitcher by a rubber seal around the lid.

As well as being commonly found in domestic kitchens, various types of blender are also used:

    • by public bars, mainly to chop us ice.
    • by plastics manufacturing plants, where commercial blenders are used to blend dry ingredients.
    • in scientific laboratories, where they are used in fields like microbiology for tasks such as extracting bacteria from samples.
