Crock Pot Pork Roast with Gravy Recipe:
Good gravy, this pork roast is yummy in my tummy. Growing up, I don’t remember eating many pork roasts; instead, Mom typically made beef roast like our Beef Roast French Dip. My kids, on the other hand, are obsessed with pork – bacon, pork sausage, bacon, pork chops, bacon, pork steak, and bacon. So naturally, this slow cooker pork roast was a hit with my family.
This Slow Cooker Pork Roast with Gravy is a winner in my eyes because it uses canned soups – simple pantry ingredients – with little to no prep needed. Pork roast tends to have a nice natural fat content, and when slow cooked, it mixes with the soups to create its own gravy. I recommend serving this over mashed potatoes.
How to Make a Tender Pork Roast
The goal is for the meat to be fork-tender. When you try to remove the roast from the crock pot, it should fall apart into large pieces. This is when you know it’s gonna be delish.
To get a tender pork roast, a 3-5 pound pork roast will take 5 to 6 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low in the slow cooker. Be sure to season the pork generously with salt and pepper. Dredging in flour and browning in oil before slow cooking will also add another layer of flavor, but isn’t necessary to end up with a delicious entrée.

- Thaw the pork roast before adding to the slow cooker.
- For easy clean-up, use a slow cooker liner.
