1. Sweet Summer Berry Smoothie Recipe

If you are looking for a drink to help cool you down this summer, this smoothie recipe is it! My sweet summer smoothie is the picture of summertime perfection. It features fresh, summery fruits with a slight tropical twist. It is a smoothie without yogurt that everyone will love.

I absolutely adore the simplicity of this berry smoothie. It only requires four ingredients to make a perfect, flavorful, cold drink your family will love. It is a go-to drink in our house and my kids love it.

Here is what you need to make this berry smoothie recipe:

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup frozen mango

Blend all of the ingredients together well, pureeing them until perfectly smooth. Pour the berry smoothie into two glasses and enjoy while they are nice and cold.

The almond milk used in this recipe keeps the drink dairy-free. However, if you prefer to use regular milk or coconut milk, both would work wonderfully. A little more milk will make the berry smoothie thinner while some ice cubes will help to thicken it up. Whole milk will give the drink a little more calcium as well.

You can buy frozen mixed berries in almost any grocery store along with the frozen mango pieces. You can also freeze your own fresh fruit. Freeze some more berries to have on hand so you can make this berry smoothie recipe without yogurt anytime you’d like!

2. Green Mango Spinach Smoothie

Smoothies are a great way to ensure that you get your daily dose of vegetables. Blending veggies into a smoothie along with fruit, like mango, can help mask the taste of the spinach.

My fat-free spinach smoothie not only has healthy, green spinach but also has broccoli. This bonus vegetable makes the smoothie even more packed full of vitamins and minerals.

The strong sugar flavor of the mango masks a lot of the potent vegetable flavor. You can use frozen mango to make the drink nice and thick. A scoop of chia seeds and bee pollen adds slight flavor, protein, vitamin c, and antioxidants to the drink.

Here are the ingredients you need to make two servings of delicious, dairy-free green smoothies:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 mango, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tsp bee pollen
  • 1 tsp chia seed
  • ice

Use your favorite, high-speed blender to puree the ingredients until smooth. You really want to be sure to make this as creamy as possible.

I also like to add a handful of ice cubes to ensure it is perfectly chilled. A little honey will add some natural sugar. Add some pineapple chunks for a more tropical flavor or any of your favorite fruits. A banana will make the drink thicker, too.

I love this smoothie without yogurt or fat when I need a healthy boost of energy. It doesn’t have much sugar, not too veggie-packed, and almost no fat. A big healthy cup of smoothie does the body good!

3. Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I like to call this banana smoothie recipe without yogurt the “Good Morning Sunshine”. This is because it is the perfect morning-time drink. It is refreshing, healthy and will help you start your day off right.

The main ingredients in this strawberry smoothie are bananas and strawberries. Both are classic smoothie ingredients. Many recipes use bananas to thicken and add natural sugar to the cold drink. Strawberries are a natural complementary flavor to bananas and blend into smoothies well.

My strawberry banana smoothie has a little more to it than just two kinds of fruits. Here is what else I put into my blender:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 8 strawberries
  • 2 cups frozen peaches
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp honey

All you need to do is puree the ingredients on this list and you will have an incredible smoothie without yogurt!

I love using canned coconut milk for this banana strawberry smoothie recipe since it is naturally sweet. You can even omit the honey from the recipe if you’d like. Add extra honey for an even sweeter drink.

Try to find very ripe peaches, bananas, and strawberries to add even more natural sweetness. I like to buy extra fruit when it is ripe and in season. Then, I cut, peel and freeze the extra fruit and save it for this drink.

4. Post Workout Smoothie

Smoothies are wonderful as an after-workout treat. You exercise hard and then you get a reward. Make this pineapple, post-workout drink your reward.

Here are the ingredients for my post-workout smoothie recipe.

  • 2 cups fresh kale
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 Tbsp chia seed

This recipe is a perfect balance of fruit and vegetables. There is fresh kale (a veggie) and mango, pineapple, and blueberry. The drink is a little sweet and very healthy! It is also dairy-free since it has no milk or yogurt.

Vanilla protein powder gives this frozen beverage an incredible amount of protein. Find a powder that you enjoy. Look for one that isn’t too chalky and not overly sweet. You may have to try one or two to see which powder you like best. Every person in your gym has their personal favorite protein powder!

Try adding a splash of orange juice instead of coconut water. This will give your smoothie a little extra vitamin C. Almond milk and coconut cream are wonderful substitutes as well.

5. Banana Almond Butter Smoothie

Not all smoothies have to be super packed with fruit. This banana smoothie made with raw almond butter is the perfect example of a heartier, less fruity smoothie.

Take a look at the ingredients needed for this smoothie recipe. You probably have a lot of these in your pantry already!

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon raw almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Almond butter makes the smoothie very thick and naturally sweet. Almond butter is very healthy and contains lots of fiber, protein, and your daily dose of magnesium. You can also add peanut butter in place of almond butter. Buy natural, unsweetened peanut butter for the best results.

Vanilla almond milk and vanilla extract give the smoothie a tasty, vanilla flavor. Try coconut cream in place of almond milk if you want to make your smoothie even richer.

Frozen bananas make the smoothie thick. If you didn’t have time to freeze the banana, just add a few handfuls of ice cubes to the blender. Your smoothie with no yogurt will come out perfectly!

6. Coconut Water Smoothie

I love this smoothie recipe because it is so flexible. Here are the base ingredients that I use:

  • One bottle of Cocozia Coconut water
  • One frozen banana
  • Handful of frozen peaches, berries, and mango

Choose to add only strawberries to make a tasty coconut, strawberry smoothie. Use just mango as the fruit for a pretty orange smoothie without yogurt. Toss some frozen pineapple chunks into the blender along with mango to make a very tropical drink. The possibilities are endless!

I love using Cocozia Coconut water because it is a delicious, organic option. It is also sweet without needing extra sugar. Any coconut water can be used in this smoothie without yogurt. You can also use any kind of milk in place of coconut water. This will give you a creamier smoothie.

If you want a truly decadent version of this drink, add a scoop of coconut ice cream in place of the coconut water. This will make the smoothie very thick, sweet, and more like a dessert. Sounds pretty delicious!

Tips for Making Perfect Smoothies Without Yogurt

Before you start blending your smoothies, take a look at my tips and tricks that will ensure your drinks are perfect.

  1. Always use a high-speed blender and puree for at least thirty seconds. Smoothies taste best when they are smooth! A good blender will make a big difference.
  2. Always freeze your fruit. If you are making a strawberry smoothie, a banana smoothie, a pineapple drink, or really any recipe that involves fruits, freeze the fruit before making your recipes. Frozen fruit will give your drink a thick texture and keep it cold. It will also prevent the smoothie from tasting watered down. When you use frozen fruit, you can skip the ice cubes and have a more flavorful smoothie!
  3. Double your smoothie recipe and freeze half in an ice cube tray. Whenever you want a tasty smoothie, you can pop the cubes out of the tray and just blend. No need to measure sliced strawberries or wait for your banana to ripen! This is a great, quick drink option.

As you can see, there are lots of ways to make delicious smoothie recipes without yogurt. Grab your favorite fruits, pick a recipe and start up your blender! You will be enjoying an incredible drink in no time. Enjoy!
