Okay, let’s talk about stir fry recipes and how awesome they are when you’re trying to eat healthy! They are basically one giant excuse to just dump all the veggies you have in a frying pan and go to town. But what do you do when you get sick of the same old chicken stir fry? You switch it up of course!!!

I still remember that one of the very first recipes I made on my own as a teenager was a Kung Pao Shrimp recipe that my mom had cut out of the newspaper. I’ve always been a big fan of roasted and stir fry vegetables so I was eager to try cooking myself with *ALL* the veggies.

Since my first foray into cooking, I’ve been down to try anything and everything, from fancy pastas to enchiladas, seared scallops, salads and casseroles. I just love cooking, whether it’s a difficult dish or an easy one pot dinner. But at the end of the day, when I’m in a rush or I just really don’t know what to make, I always turn to stir fry recipes as my go-to healthy weeknight dinner and for good reason: there are so many ways to get creative, and you can cook “buffet style”.

Let me explain: you can literally have a “buffet” of whatever protein, veggie, starch, grain, sauce or topping available and just add in whatever you feel like. For instance, I always have a thing for baby corn, and I looooove green onions. Sometimes I’m craving chicken, other times shrimp. And I almost always opt for noodles or spiralized sweet potatoes over boring old rice.

So, if you want to learn how to make a stir fry, you really just have to go with whatever ingredients you’re craving, or look at what you have on hand. With most stir fry recipes, you can make modifications or swap in certain ingredients for others. And the sauces are mostly made with pantry staples like soy sauce, peanut butter, rice vinegar and different types of oils.

Really, however you craft your stir fry, you can’t go wrong, there’s no rigid formula! Just whip out your frying pan or wok, whisk your sauce ingredients together, and pull out your protein and veg then get to cooking!

Of course because I’m allllllll about those easy weeknight eats, I’ve got some creative, delicious and above all HEALTHY stir fry recipes rounded up below if you’re looking to change things up. You’re guaranteed to find some inspiration below!
