Deviled eggs are a classic party food. For a special festive twist, we made Colored Deviled Eggs and they are so beautiful! A very easy, special touch for Easter and fun to do for baby showers as well. These are going to be the hit of the party! They are the prettiest little deviled eggs you’ve ever seen. Pastel colored Easter eggs are so easy to make, yet they look fancy. They are super simple and WOW, do they add a festive touch to the table. Everyone loves them! You can even do red, white and blue for July 4th. You can use your favorite deviled egg recipe, or we have a delicious one for you.

Instead of dying easter egg shells, these dyed Easter Deviled Eggs have the shells removed. Once the eggs have been boiled and peeled, you will place them in a food coloring mixture. Let them sit for about 10 minutes, or until the desired shades are achieved.
The eggs are delicate, so it’s important to be patient and move gently. We used gel food coloring in regular and neon colors. I find that the gel doesn’t dissolve in water as easily as regular food coloring, but just know that gel food coloring works just a well for coloring deviled eggs.

It sort of looks like a science experiment! Using a spoon, gently place egg shells into each cup. You will also use a spoon to lift them out. Have a stack of paper towels prepared for the dyed eggs to dry. You can also pat them dry with additional paper towels if needed. While you’re waiting for the eggs to color/dry, you can start making the filling (recipe below).
I find that the purple color takes the longest and also requires the most dye. However, it all depends on which kind of food coloring you have. How adorable are these Colored Deviled Eggs? Not only are they delicious, they are gorgeous for your Easter table. Be sure to make plenty of them, because they disappear quickly!
