Just place the desired amount of eggs on the trivet. Add one cup of water to the inner pot. I ordered the egg steamer basket for pressure cookers, but it only allows you to steam six eggs at a time. If you want to do the whole dozen, it’s easier to just lay them all on the trivet on top of one another. Otherwise, the egg steamer trivet is a great accessory for the Crock Express.
Place the lid on lock and make sure your seal is set to the sealing position. Press steam and adjust the time to six minutes. I experimented with this many, many, many times and no matter how many eggs you have this is the perfect time. You need to have an ice water bath ready, so that you can immediately remove the eggs to stop the cooking process. Otherwise, they will continue to cook and have gray outer edges.

I have been experimenting with them and anywhere from 6-8 minutes is great. It just depends on how you like the yolks. I like a less done creamier egg, so I have been doing 6 minutes, but if you don’t then 7 to 8 minutes will cook them more throughly. You must take them out immediately and get them in the water bath or they will overcook.
Be careful removing the eggs as they will be extremely hot. I use a large serving spoon or tongs to very lightly remove them. Once cooled, store them in air tight containers or Ziploc bags for healthy on-the-go snacks!
