Besides this simple smoothie, I also love making my Strawberry Smoothie. The inspiration for this smoothie came from a smoothie that I had at the Polynesian Culture Center while on vacation in Hawaii. There’s a picture below of the smoothie, and I LOVE how they served it. This would be a great way to serve this smoothie for a luau or any other Hawaiian-themed party.

What other fruit goes well with pineapple?
This is a GREAT question! I love using fresh, in-season fruit to pair with this smoothie, but frozen will do just as well. You can use this simple smoothie recipe as a base for my 10 Pineapple Smoothie variations below!
Recipe Variations:
- Spinach, Pineapple, and Banana: Add the pineapple juice to the blender and 2 handfuls of fresh spinach and blend until smooth. Then, add the remaining ingredients on the recipe card below and follow the instructions.
- Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie: Instead of bananas in the recipe below, add in 1 cup of frozen or fresh strawberries.
- Mango Pineapple Smoothie: Instead of using bananas in the recipe below, add in 1 cup of frozen or fresh mango chunks.
- Creamy Pineapple: Follow the recipe below, but use only 1 cup of pineapple juice and use 1 cup of low-fat vanilla yogurt.
- Kale Pineapple Smoothie: Add the pineapple juice to the blender and 2 handfuls of fresh kale and blend until smooth. Then, add the remaining ingredients on the recipe card below and follow the instructions.
- Blueberry Pineapple Smoothie: Instead of using bananas in the recipe below, add in 1 cup of frozen or fresh blueberries.
- Pineapple Coconut: Follow the recipe below, but use only 1 cup of pineapple juice and use 1 cup of coconut milk.
- Pineapple Orange Smoothie: Follow the recipe below, but use orange juice instead of pineapple juice.
- Avocado Pineapple Smoothie: Follow the recipe below, but use 1 sliced avocado instead of the banana.
- Carrot Pineapple: Follow the recipe below, but use only 1 cup of pineapple juice and use 1 cup of carrot juice.
Cook’s Note:
- The leftover smoothie will keep in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours. You may need to give it a quick stir before drinking, because it may have separated.
- I also like freezing leftover smoothie in popsicle molds for easy breakfast on the go!
