What makes Samsung dishwashers stand out?
The WaterWall range of dishwashers from Samsung uses a quite different system to spray water than what you find with other brands. Conventional dishwashers use a spinning spray arm to shower the dishes with water, however WaterWall dishwashers use a sweeping wall of water jets which move back and forth across the dishes. According to Samsung, this reduces splashback of dirty water and residues from dirty to clean dishes during the cycle.
Dishwashers with the Zone Booster wash option can use intensified jets of water over sections containing dirtier dishes. This is one way to get clean results with loads of mixed soiling without wasting water by just washing everything at high intensity.
Another particularly unique feature to this range is the FlexTray. This feature is offered with dishwashers that have a third rack for cutlery and utensils. The removable rubber grid allows users to remove every piece of cutlery at once and put it away quickly, without fiddling around with baskets or trays with little nooks for each individual spoon.

All models in this range have touch controls (instead of push buttons), the FlexTray cutlery drawer, and a 15 place setting capacity. The upper rack is height adjustable with two fold-down tines, and the lower rack has four fold-down tines.

Samsung WaterWall built-under dishwashers
Both current Samsung built-under models are stainless steel semi-integrated designs, with the touch controls neatly tucked inside the upper edge of the door. With a 15 place setting capacity, both dish racks have foldable tines (2 on the upper, 4 on the lower), plus two different height levels and foldable cup shelves in the upper rack. Instead of a cutlery basket, both models have FlexTray cutlery trays.
The differences between the two models (apart from the price) are a number of extras on the more expensive DWH9970US – an extra wash program (Intensive), an extra wash option (Speed Boost), and a child lock. There’s also a 3db noise difference between the two.
